A bit about me:
Me at the magnificent gardens of the Villa D'Este, located in Tivoli, small town near Rome, Italy |
Name: Kamilah (everyone calls me "Kami")
Hometown: San Juan, Puerto Rico
Current city: Miami, FL, USA
Zodiac sign: Leo
Languages I speak: Spanish, English, Portuguese
Languages I'm learning: Japanese, Italian
Countries I have been to (so far!): Bahamas, British Virgin Islands, Canada, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, England, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Portugal, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, United States
I love meeting new people from all over the world. I am a tenaciously curious person. I love immersing myself in the culture of where I travel to and always do what I can to "blend in" by learning some of the local language, the customs, and try as many of the local delicacies as I can.
I am very outdoorsy and live a very active lifestyle here in Miami. I love learning about culture and history. I usually "nerd out" at museums. Traveling and constantly learning/absorbing new things are one of my biggest passions in life. For this, I must thank my parents, who always encouraged my sister and I to always get out there and explore and in the meantime try to give back somehow!
I am also extremely passionate about architecture and architecture design (this is what I just graduated from at the University of Miami School of Architecture). What I love about architecture is that we have the privilege and the responsibility to positively impact people's everyday lives. I want to design inclusive architecture that engages the community through social urbanism. I believe in the power of design thinking and want to find integrated solutions for today's and tomorrow's problems through architecture/urban design and creativity!

One of my favorite quotes:
"Climb so you can see the world, not so the world can see you" - David McCullough Jr.
